Fast and Female: Empowerment through Sport and Education

Fast and Female is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to empowering girls aged 8 to 20 through sports, physical activity, and education. At the heart of their mission is a commitment to inclusivity and gender equality within the sports world. Through comprehensive events and mentorship programs, Fast and Female provides girls with essential life skills, role models, and support to navigate challenges with confidence.

Fast and Female’s commitment to inclusivity is demonstrated through its efforts to create programs that cater to girls from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of athletic experience. By fostering an environment where every girl feels welcome and valued, Fast and Female ensures that its programs are accessible and beneficial to all participants. This inclusive approach not only promotes gender equality in sports but also helps to break down societal barriers that often prevent girls from fully participating in physical activities.

The organization also places a strong emphasis on the importance of movement and physical activity as a means of promoting overall health and well-being. By encouraging girls to stay active and engaged in sports, Fast and Female helps to instill lifelong habits that contribute to physical fitness and mental health.

Core Values and Mission

At the heart of Fast and Female are the core values of empowerment, inclusion, authenticity, movement, collaboration, and learning. These values not only influence decision-making but also guide the development of programs, partnerships, and mentor recruitment that align with the organization’s mission. For instance, Fast and Female’s events and programs focus on building confidence and leadership skills while creating a safe and supportive environment for girls in sports. From mentorship programs to leadership summits, Fast and Female creates safe, supportive environments that nurture confidence and leadership skills among young athletes.

Key Initiatives

Fast and Female’s initiatives include mentorship programs, skills workshops, and leadership summits aimed at empowering girls. Success is measured through participant feedback, surveys, and evaluating the impact on empowerment, self-esteem, and positive outcomes.

One standout initiative is the REAL (Relatable, Empowered, Active Leaders) Role Model mentorship program. This program pairs girls with accomplished women in sports, offering guidance and inspiration that transcends the playing field, resulting in personal growth and community support.

Inspiring Success

Over the years, Fast and Female has witnessed countless inspiring success stories of girls overcoming challenges and achieving personal milestones in sports and life. The organization prioritizes and actively seeks to amplify the voices and experiences of all girls and women interested in and participating in sports and physical activity. Through testimonials, interviews, and social media features, Fast and Female shares the impactful journeys and achievements of the girls it empowers.

Advocacy

In addition to its programs and events, Fast and Female engages in ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the challenges faced by girls in sports and to advocate for policies that support gender equality in athletics. Through partnerships with other organizations, advocacy campaigns, and public speaking engagements, Fast and Female amplifies its message and works towards creating a more equitable sports environment for all.
