About the Role: 

We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as an Outreach and Partnerships Coordinator. If you are passionate about menstrual health and have a strong desire to make a positive impact in your community, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. 

As the Outreach and Partnerships Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing outreach strategies for our menstrual equity education program, building new partnerships with organizations, and fostering relationships with existing partners.

  • This position will be conducted remotely, with the requirement that the successful candidate resides in Canada.
  • The successful candidate will be required to participate in weekly team meetings.

  • The term of the contract is part-time, with a commitment of 0.25 FTE or 10 hours per week for a duration of May to October 2025 (26 weeks).
  • The preferred start date for this role is May 5, 2025.
  • The Outreach and Partnerships Coordinator will report directly to the Program Manager of the Menstrual Equity Education Program.

About Free Periods Canada:

We are on a mission to make menstrual health equitable in Canada. We research to inform and support advocacy work for menstrual equity, connect people and advocacy organizations to build community, and provide those in need with period supplies to work towards menstrual equity and an end to period poverty.

About the Menstrual Equity Education Program:

Free Periods Canada partners with other non-profit organizations to offer workshops on various topics related to menstrual health, including the ME102 and ME102 workshops. Menstrual Equity 101 (ME101) is an interactive, engaging workshop designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to drive change in their community. Menstrual Equity 102 (ME102) equips educators and youth service providers with the tools, activities, and resources needed to effectively teach youth about menstrual equity. The goal of this workshop is to build capacity among those working with young people, enabling them to confidently deliver meaningful lessons and engage in informed, impactful discussions about menstrual health

As an Outreach and Partnerships Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing outreach strategies to expand the program's network, including connecting with educators, community organizations, youth service providers, etc. 
  • Identifying potential partnerships and creating opportunities for collaboration with organizations to increase the reach of the menstrual equity education program.

  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key partners and stakeholders to secure resources and support for the menstrual equity program workshops.

  • Representing the organization at meetings with existing stakeholders and/or potential partners to raise awareness about the menstrual equity education program. 
  • Working closely with the program team to ensure that outreach efforts align with program goals and objectives.
  • Coordinating logistics and timelines for partnership and program-related events or initiatives, as needed.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • At least one year of experience in outreach and partnership development, ideally within a non-profit or community-focused setting.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders, build relationships, and effectively advocate for the organization’s mission.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also taking initiative and working independently when needed.

Nice to have:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages, is preferred.
  • The successful candidate will be bilingual (English/French).
  • Connections to community-based and youth service organizations in the Maritimes.  
  • Experience or familiarity with non-profit organizations, feminist activist groups, or community advocacy work is a plus.

Compensation:

  • This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $30/hour 
  • Non-linear workdays and flexible work hours are offered, allowing for a degree of flexibility in the work schedule
